This proposal seeks to activate Grounds Art Race by connecting new artists through a series of activations that blend physical and digital experiences.

Objectives

  • Expand the artistic network of Grounds
  • Encourage the creation of new consistent Grounds artworks
  • Design a unified Grounds art format to guide creative production
  • Strengthen the presence of Grounds through IRL and URL activations

WTF is The Grounds Machine?

The Grounds Machine is a program designed to support 10 artists who will become the core of a living creative engine within Grounds.

These artists will create new Grounds artworks following a shared visual and conceptual framework, driving the rhythm of creation, auctions, and community growth.

Art Format

  • 1:1 square
  • Organic Art - No AI
  • PFP - expressive and identifiable
  • Defined noggles integrated into each composition

IRL & URL Activations

The Grounds Machine will launch through both IRL and URL activations — entry points to involve artists, connect communities, and share the project vision.

  • IRL activation at Devconnect, Buenos Aires
  • Workshop with Nouns Colombia Community
  • Online Talk with Mexico community
  • Daily Ground o´Clock on Nouniverso

Each session will include short presentations, Q&A sessions, and audiovisual documentation for social diffusion.

We will also host “How to create a Ground Onchain?"

Project Phases

  • Phase I: First IRL talk and official announcement of the initiative
  • Phase II: Second URL talk and open call launch
  • Phase III: Third workshop, artist selection and onboarding process
  • Phase IV: The Grounds Machine in motion → Daily Ground o’Clock

Budget

  • IRL logistic, materials, print assets: 0.2 ETH
  • Online sessions, artist coordination and support: 0.1 ETH
  • Social media amplification and design: 0.08 ETH

TOTAL: 0.38 ETH

Impact

  • Production of consistent Grounds new artworks
  • Support and mentorship for 10 artists with the curatorial Grounds format
  • Expansion of Grounds toward new bidders, artists, contributors, and coffee lovers
  • Activation of the Grounds DAO Flywheel through creation, visibility, auctions, and art

IF you want artists involved but want it to be a more industrialised and streamlined output model then Id suggest doing it in vector, with a character outline, a set of variable traits and guidlines (size and placement of traits) and colour palette, line weight. Then get the artists to make traits and build up a traits repository (same as how nouns do it except you dont need to do pixle art)

ai is a tool, why exclude it.

This is a curatorial machine that seeks to generate consistent Grounds. Using AI is open to anyone; you can propose a new Ground with AI, but those that come from this machine will be organic.

I am in accord. I agree with the no AI policy. You do not need an artist to make AI images, its moot, you can just use an algorithm that automates the whole process and dont pretend to include artists. If it is about the Art (which I absolutely support) then include artists and give them a framework to be creative around. My input would be the size of the noggles being consistent and more or less within a specified placement zone in the square, a definitive colour palette and a specific line weight range.

That's a lot of policing for decentralized art. AI is here to stay it's high time we integrate it into our lives

Like I said: Do what you like. But why pay for random all-over-the-place (and mostly bad) AI generated content when you can just automate the process and get an algorithm to generate a consistently styled, new, 'cute' coffee culture character pfp every day. It doesnt bother me one way or the other but as an artist Im not wasting my creative energy competing with generated content (as much as people love to swoon over AI art and as nice as it may sometimes look, there is 0 skill required to make it (no more gatekeeping!!), its not a creative process when you just wait a minute to see what comes out at the other end) To me art is important. Maybe not to everyone.
